Walsh Jesuit High School

Walsh Jesuit, a Catholic, Jesuit high school in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, offers an outstanding college-preparatory curriculum in a caring, supportive atmosphere that fosters intellectual curiosity and value formation.

Walsh Jesuitís motto, Men and Women for Others, is at the very heart of the schoolís mission and aptly reflects the schoolís desire to develop young men and women of competence, conscience, and compassion.

Taken from a 1973 address by the Rev. Pedro Arrupe, S.J., former Superior General of the Society of Jesus, the motto was presented as a challenge to Jesuit alumni worldwide and, in fact, has become the motto of all 47 Jesuit secondary schools throughout the United States. In his speech, Fr. Arrupe urged Jesuit alumni to use their gifts and education for lives of service by participating in the school community, becoming active in their own education, going beyond the minimal expectations in their development, and showing compassion for the least in the community and the world.

If you are interested in reaching beyond academic excellence to develop as a whole person ó intellectually, physically, emotionally, socially, morally, and spiritually ó Walsh Jesuit is the right place for you.

I invite you to call or stop by for a visit.

-Fr. Michael J. Marco, S.J.

Academic Success:
Walsh Jesuit’s reputation for academic excellence reflects a Jesuit emphasis on scholastic achievement. The school offers a dynamic blend of required and elective courses — all strictly college preparatory — developed and presented by faculty members who will not permit students to compromise on their potential.

Archbishop Hoban High School

Hoban is that rare place where students can always be true to themselves, whether they’re high-achieving scholars, musicians-in-the-making, aspiring athletes or just students discovering who they really are and what they can accomplish.

While Hoban is an area leader in National Merit scholars, our classrooms are actually filled with students of all learning abilities, taking advantage of passionate teachers and a one-of-a-kind learning environment to excel beyond what they and their families believed possible.

Students find and embrace their faith at Hoban, so that one day, long after they’ve graduated, it’s there for them when they need it most. Hoban seniors are more prepared for college than many of their peers, leveraging the total Hoban experience to succeed and lead in college and beyond.

Surprise yourself at Hoban by trying things you never imagined doing, and as a result, you will see your world and yourself in a different light. We will surround you with caring mentors invested in helping you become the student and person you hope to be.

Gilmour Academy

About Us:
Gilmour Academy is an independent, Catholic, and coeducational college-preparatory school located near Cleveland, Ohio, and sponsored by the Brothers of Holy Cross from Notre Dame, Indiana.

Students are at the center of all that Gilmour Academy does to nurture the heart, to educate the mind, and to promote personal leadership toward making our world more humane and just. This is the cornerstone of our mission. Our students thrive intellectually and spiritually within a context of the Catholic school tradition lived and shaped by the Congregation of Holy Cross for more than 150 years.

Gilmour Academy opened its doors more than six decades ago to young minds seeking a rigorous college-preparatory school education. We continue today to instill the desire for excellence in academic mastery and moral character that prepares our students to succeed in college and in life, while laying a foundation of justice and compassion toward others.

Our students are instructed by well-qualified faculty who are purposeful in their efforts to guide young men and women to excellence and success. They learn in facilities that support a curriculum for our 21st century, and in an environment that cultivates their artistic and athletic talents, and fosters moral leadership with a commitment to serving others.

To develop the competence to see and the courage to act in creating a more humane and just society.

Everything about Gilmour is driven by the Holy Cross mission to translate moral beliefs into practice – from our college preparatory academic program and extracurricular activities, to our day and boarding programs, our facilities and endowment, and especially our status as an independent coeducational Catholic school.

Our mission manifests itself across our campus:
-In our faculty, who educate our students in a research-based curriculum which engages life learning.

-In an academic setting , where young men and women shape themselves into people who are effective communicators, complex thinkers, effective problem-solvers, collaborative contributors, lifelong learners, and morally responsible persons.

-In creating a culture, of empathy and compassion for others through community service.

-In teaching values, proactively in the critical years of boys’ and girls’ development that embraces all people, cultures, and faiths through programs that help them understand and accept the many ways we are different and to recognize the ways we are alike.

Our mission sustains the excellent private coeducation Gilmour Academy is able to offer and provides the foundation for the critical thinking, moral formation, and independent leadership we seek to inspire in our students.
